Pakistan Women Edge Past Thailand in Asian Games Quarterfinal
In a thrilling encounter at the Asian Games 2026, Pakistan’s women’s cricket team managed to surpass Thailand’s efforts by securing a 3-wicket victory in an intense quarterfinal match. The game, held in Aichi-Nagoya, was truncated to 11 overs per side due to weather disruptions, setting the stage for a high-stakes contest.
Thailand, put to bat first by Pakistan after winning the toss, posted a total of 91 for 4. Nannapat Koncharoenkai proved instrumental in building a competitive score for the team, contributing 49 runs off 38 balls, hitting seven boundaries during her innings. Despite her commendable performance, the team fell short of setting a more formidable target.
Pakistan’s captain, Fatima Sana, delivered a standout bowling performance, claiming two wickets for 22 runs. Nashra Sandhu supported her efforts by taking another wicket, restricting Thailand to a score that seemed within reach.
